Who Am I?

Hello,

I’m Marianne, a jack of all trades originally from the Netherlands, who has been living in Germany since 2012. I moved here to pursue a masters and PhD in Archaeology, but I have since left Academia and returned to my first profession I learned in the Netherlands: goldsmithing.

Since May 2024 I started my jewellery business called Heart Times Jewellery. With my jewellery I hope to empower the wearer and to contribute in some small way to make the world a better place, even if this is only emotional healing. I’ve always loved the emotional aspects of jewellery, how they connect to(memories of) people, places, important life events for example.

Since 1st of September 2025 I’m employed as a goldsmith in the Wendland region, where I mainly do repairs, supportive work and sometimes a new piece of jewellery. Doing repairs is very rewarding for me, for the same reason - restoring something that has emotional value for the wearer is a great feeling. Also working in small, kind and close-knit team makes for a good work environment. In my freetime I also enjoy sewing, playing videogames (storytelling!), reading and walking in nature with my dog. I live on the edge of woodland where often the only sound are forest animals or the wind…I also feel very fortunate for that! Like most goldsmiths, I recycle my materials and make most things (plate, wire) from scratch!
